Tech jobs

The wisest thing ever said about tech jobs at church is: "You don't know those guys are there until something goes wrong."

Isn't that the truth.

You don't notice what's being done behind the scenes. You come in and the lights are on, the music is playing, the words are on the wall, the pastor's preaching, life is good.

However, when something doesn't go quite right, then you ask yourself "who's messing that up?"

At KP, that doesn't happen very much. Our tech guys put a lot of effort into making sure that the technology is aiding us in worship, not standing in our way. However, we're not pros. Our equipment does stuff we don't know how to us, and some of what we do know we just learned.

Still, our team does a great job, and they do it with a great attitude.

For me it's a lot of fun working with those people. Maybe it's because I really like geeking out on tech stuff. I'd like to believe it's because I care a lot about the experience for people and so I guard it carefully, but I'm pretty sure the geek factor is bigger.

I'm posting this for two reasons: one is to tell you how great our team is. Seriously people, our tech guys are a blast to work with and they are really invested in their stuff.

The second is to let you know we have a few empty slots on the team and could really use some new team members. So, if you like operating a camera, if you're familiar with presentation software, or if you know much about stage lighting, there's a place on the team for you.

Easter

It's been a long time that I posted our sets, but I really wanted to mention Easter.

It was a great day of worship at KP this Easter. The service was well laid out and people were just ready to come into worship. It was natural and genuine to just enter into the Lord's presence and spend time with Him.

Here are the songs we did:

The Solid Rock as by Charlie Hall
Mighty to Save as by Laura Story
Grace that is Greater as by Bart Millard
The Wonderful Cross as by Chris Tomlin
Sing, Sing, Sing as by Chris Tomlin
